Valentine là ngày lễ bên Thiên Chúa Giáo, do Giáo Hoàng Gelasius chỉ định và chọn ngày 14 tháng 2 .

Nó liên quan đến thời điểm các loài chim chọn bạn tình và cũng liên quan đến một ông tu sĩ tên Valentine chuyên làm phép cưới lén lút cho các cặp trẻ bằng nghi lễ đạo Chúa trong thời buổi đạo ấy chưa được chính thức công nhận. Ông này sau đó bị nhà nước La Mã xử tử hình.

Đáng lẽ, dân VN ta không nên a dua theo đạo Chúa để ăn mừng ngày Valentine vì nó chỉ biểu tượng tình yêu cho tín đồ đạo Chúa .
